National Certificate: Film & Television Production

Do you have a story to tell, something inside of you that yearns to escape, a universal truth that the world is waiting to hear? If you believe in the power of narrative and marvel at the impact that moving pictures and synchronised sound can have on an audience, then this is the programme for you!

The Media Workshop’s National Certificate in Film and Television Production is an intense, hands-on, two-year programme that will teach you all the skills you need to launch your career in the film and television industries.

Over the course of two years, you will attend classes (don’t worry, they’re fun and skills-based!), produce a variety of screen content, from vlogs to music videos, short dramas to documentaries and more!

You will be exposed to a whole new world (you started singing the Aladdin song, didn’t you?) of technical jargon and become familiar with professional software, like Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve and CeltX. Soon, you’ll be covering your Zeppelin with a dead cat, maintaining continuity, jump cutting and cable bashing like a true pro!

Upon completion of year one, students can depart the programme with an FET Certificate in Film and Television Production Operations.

-Dorothea Lange

Do you print ideas in the dark room of your mind's eye?
Do you look to change perspective?
Do you chase the story?
Do you notice the finest details without losing sight of the bigger picture?
Do you think outside the box?
Do you tilt and pan and zoom and crop?
Do you search for ways to condense a million disparate ideas into a single frame?
Do you dream of bringing your own story into focus?
Then this is the course for you.
