FET Certificate: Film & Television Productions Operations

Don’t let the fact that you do not have a matric certificate prevent you from entering the film industry!

 

The entry requirement for the FET Certificate in Film and Television Production Operations is grade 11 or equivalent experience.

This qualification allows you to experience the various career options in the industry (technical, creative and production) and achieve an employable level of competence in your choice of focus area. 

The qualification also provides a basis for all further qualifications in the industry. 

National Certificate: Film & Television Production

The National Certificate in Film and Television Production is a practical, hands-on qualification in which various production skills are honed on set and backed up with film and communication theory in the classroom.

 

Over the course of a year, students learn skills in Screenwriting, Directing, Producing, Cinematography, Sound, Editing and Post Production. They also produce a showreel, which includes a Vlog, Music Video, Public Service Announcement and Short Film.

National Certificate:  Multimedia Journalism

This qualification allows graduates to become employable journalists in one year!

 

Learners can choose to specialise in either broadcast and community journalism.

It is aimed at learners who have attained a first qualification, such as a diploma or degree (NQF Level 5 or 6).

 

It also allows experienced journalists without a formal qualification to achieve recognition of prior learning.

The multimedia elective teaches students immersive story-telling techniques, including text, sound, video and photography.
